WBENC Certification
SPE Labels is a certified Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). For purchasing teams with supplier diversity goals, that means labels and printer ribbons can be sourced from a certified women-owned supplier.
What WBENC Certification Means
WBENC certification validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women. Certification involves a review of business documentation and a site visit. WBENC certification is accepted by many major U.S. corporations, as well as some states, cities and other entities.
Why It Matters to Purchasing and Supplier Diversity Teams
Many companies track spend with certified diverse suppliers. If your organization recognizes WBENC certification, purchases from SPE Labels may count toward those goals. SPE also works as a second source for labels and ribbons, so adding a certified WBE doesn't mean replacing a supplier that is working for you today. A second source matched to your current label material, adhesive, liner, core size and printer can also protect production, receiving and shipping if your primary supplier misses lead time or discontinues a construction.
