How Pressure Sensitive Labels Are Built
Every pressure sensitive label has three layers: a face material that carries the print, an adhesive that bonds on contact, and a release liner that carries the label until it's applied. Getting each layer right for the job is what separates a label that lasts from one that peels, smears or won't scan.
Label Materials
Paper works well for indoor shipping, inventory and general product ID. Film materials such as polypropylene and polyester hold up better against moisture, abrasion, chemicals and handling. High-temperature and specialty materials are available for demanding production environments. If you're not sure which face stock fits, tell us where the label goes and what it has to survive.
Adhesive Options
Permanent adhesives are for labels that should never come off. Removable adhesives are for temporary identification, and freezer adhesives handle cold-temperature applications. The wrong adhesive is one of the most common and expensive labeling mistakes, so we confirm the application before quoting.
Printing and Printer Compatibility
We supply pressure sensitive labels pre-printed, blank for printing in-house, or as serial-number labels. For thermal transfer printing, we help identify ribbons for common industrial printers, including Zebra, SATO, Datamax, Intermec, Eltron and Printronix.
